INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Neoplastic Diseases
Methotrexate is indicated in the treatment of gestational choriocarcinoma, chorioadenoma destruens and hydatidiform mole.
In acute lymphocytic leukemia, methotrexate is indicated in the prophylaxis of meningeal leukemia and is used in maintenance therapy in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents. Methotrexate is also indicated in the treatment of meningeal leukemia.
Methotrexate is used alone or in combination with other anticancer agents in the treatment of breast cancer, epidermoid cancers of the head and neck, advanced mycosis fungoides (cutaneous T cell lymphoma), and lung cancer, particularly squamous cell and small cell types. Methotrexate is also used incombination with other chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of advanced stage non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
Methotrexate in high doses followed by leucovorin rescue in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents is effective in prolonging relapse-free survival in patients with non-metastatic osteosarcoma who have undergone surgical resection or amputation for the primary tumor.
Psoriasis
Methotrexate is indicated in the symptomatic control of severe, recalcitrant, disabling psoriasis that is not adequately responsive to other forms of therapy, but only when the diagnosis has been established, as by biopsy and/or after dermatologic consultation. Itis important to ensure that a psoriasis "flare" is not due to an undiagnosed concomitant disease affecting immune responses.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Including Polyarticular-Course Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis
Methotrexate is indicated in the management of selected adults with severe, active, rheumatoid arthritis (ACR criteria), or children with active polyarticular-course juvenile arthritis, who have had an insufficient therapeutic response to, or are intolerant of, an adequate trial of first-line therapyincluding full dose non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs).
Aspirin, NSAIDs, and/or low dose steroids may be continued, although the possibility of increased toxicity with concomitant use of NSAIDs including salicylates has not been fully explored. (See DRUG INTERACTIONS.) Steroids may be reduced gradually in patients who respond to methotrexate.Combined use of methotrexate with gold, penicillamine, hydroxychloroquine, sulfasalazine, or cytotoxic agents, has not been studied and may increase the incidence of adverse effects. Rest and physiotherapy as indicated should be continued.
Non-FDA Approved Indications
Methotrexate has been used without FDA approval for asthma, abortion induction in ectopic pregnancy, systemic lupus erythematosus, and ulcerative colitis.

Potassium Sorbate is regarded cormmonly as a non toxic, high effective preservative. It is synthesized by sorbic acid and potassium carbonate through the processes of reaction, decoloring, drying ect.
¡ñformula----CH3CH=CHCH=CHCOOK
¡ñExcellent Colority---- Potassium sorbate of the SANHE is manufactured by the special and advanced process, has solved the problem of yellowish appearance and unstable colority etc. in traditional
process.SANHE'S product appearance is very white,
colored stability is very good.
¡ñGood Solubility---- Its solubility is 58.2g in
1OOml water at 20¡æ, 20g in 1OOml propylene glycol
at 20¡æ ,2.Og in 1OOml ethyl alcohol at 20¡æ .
¡ñGood Heat Stability---- It is stable in air-
tight solid form, but oxidation and color change easy occur if it is long---date exposed in the air. Though it lacks a defined melting, thermal decomposition occurs around 270¡æ.
¡ñGood Inhibitory Activity---- It's acid preservative, it has inhibitory activity against a wide spectrum of yeasts, molds and bacteria ,including most food-borne pathogens. Its inhibitory activity depends upon the PH of the substrate; the upper limit for activity is Ca PH 6.5 in moist applications and the degree of activity increase as the PH decrease
¡ñHigh Safety ----It is potassium salt of unsatu-
rated fatty acid. It can take part in body's normal
metabolism. The WHO bas allowed for it the highest
acceptable daily intake of all food preservatives, ie,25mg/kg body weight. The safety of potassium sor-
bate has been demonstrated enough.
¡ñUses ----Potassium sorbate is used primarily in a
wide range of food for example soy, vinegar, jam,
margarine, confections, wines, dairy products,
seafood, fruit and vegetable products, meat product,
baked products, latic acid drink, etc. and feed prod-
ucts and to a lesser" extent in certain cosmetics,
drugs, and tobacco products. When using potassium
sorbate in food, feed, drugs, cosmetics or other products, the range and maximum levels must observe the respective regulations governing the use of this food additive in your country or area.
¡ñAppearance and Color ---White crystalline powder, odorless.
¡ñSpecification ----The quality of potassium
sorbate must achieve the standard of the Fcc¢ó
